Evaluation
On the afternoon of April 20th, the final evaluation of the third-year undergraduate master class was held in the Department of Architecture of Tsinghua University. Zhuang Ziyu was invited by Professor Cui Tong, the director of the Architecture Research and Design Center of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, to serve as the judge of this group.
The architects listened carefully about the presentation
The "Master Class" is a curriculum from the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University, which is guided by architects outside the school. The architects make their own topics without the typical syllabus. The intention is to lead students to the working status of practical architects to stimulate their creative ideas. Emphasizing the importance of "research design" and "experimental design".
The theme of the Cui Tong group is "The Narrative of Spatial Unit: Enlightenment from Tradition and Natural Module Unit", which aims to arouse students' re-cognition of "class unit" and master the basic recognition of "module system". The sites for the project are located on the campus of Tsinghua University and Wangfujing Street. The limitations of the site provide a constraint for this originally abstract proposition.
Students‘ presentation
Professor Cui Tong once talked about his original intention for choosing this proposition: "I hope everyone works happily, thinks instinctively and consciously. Becoming thinkers, researchers and creators naturally, and then they discover, design, and go through their thinking. Creation." In conclusion, it is to freely develop based on the module in the unconstrained constraint, like playing games, regain your own nature, and then discover problems in the site, seek breakthroughs, and respond to the site."
